There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.
There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

Not sure if this just started happening, or if I somehow broke something.

But when I am using the media-uploader, and I "insert into post" I am forced to re-login...

This is happening with the original 2.6 code with no mods from me...

I'm thinking maybe I have something broken with my admin cookies/salt/secret?!?!?

I get that the media uploader is a frame, so it's another webpage... so I'm thinking that maybe it's somehow related to cross browser page/instance cookies...

Anyone else see this behavior?

I think I figured out my problem... although I'm a little confused how I fixed it... and why I saw it in the near original code... Pretty certain this relates to ADMIN_COOKIE_PATH.

I think I had something setup wrong... now it seems to work.

But anyway, if anyone else has seen weird behavior on this, it may be worth a discussion.

It's a known issue that I thought the developers were not able to dupe.  I don't see the ticket on it though right off.

Well, I am pretty sure that my problem came from the fact that I have remapped the admin URL to something other than wp-admin. And there are several places in the code where you have to pay attention to that. One place that I had missed was the code that generates the form/post URL for the media uploader.

But as far as why I saw this happening in the original 2.6 code... I can't be certain.

I have it working now, so I'm not going to stress about it.
