Just wondering how you folks handle oriential languages when you get bloggers using them.

I know we switched over to utf-8.  Does that help?  They were a mess with the latin charset and caused major issues with spammers leaving their comments in oriential characters.

To be honest, I don't know.

I've always set up to use utf-8, so I guess it's all good. To be honest, I could care less if I support them though, since the Lounge is a niche site anyway.

The "closest" I've came with this is I had one guy with some Turkish characters, but he was one of those import, and export deals.

A newly created blog made from the site admin -> blogs page gets setup as a utf8_general_ci.

I guess that's good enough....

New signups appear to be UTF8 as well.

Guess it's just that intial install that's still an issue.
