Hi All,

I was approached by some friends and was asked to host a blog for about 20 friends. I started to look into the "blogging" world and think it can be very fun. I have setup my first MUWP and everything seems to be going good with the testing.

I am hoping some of the vets here can recommend some "common" and "not-so-common" plugins and templates so that i can better customize my new blogging site.

If anyone can recommend a couple of sites where i can find plugins and themes, i would greatly appreciate it.

Well, we discussed it a lot in the regular forum, but for a quick overview:

- something for spam
- sitewide feed
- list all plugin
- one of the recent posts plugin or use the sitewide feed
- sitewide tags / categories
- a video plugin
- fun widgets for users.

Anything on top of that woudl be different depending on who you ask and what the site is for.

Just go slow and think about the first thing(s) you want for your site and work on them one at a time. If you have a short list, we can tell you what ones are the easiest so you can tackle them first. Wink

IMHO, there really isn't a "top" list.

Maybe a few for administration, but other than that I'd think most people want to make their site as unique as possible, vice being just another fish in the barrel.

Agreed.  Plus while some folks think one plugin is important or needed, someone else will have a different opinion.
