OK, I'm lost on the .htaccess file with wp-super-cache.  I only see examples of regular wordpress htaccess file.  Anyone care to share their wpmu one that has the code in there?  When I tried to get the system to add in the lines, it did it twice and, after fooling around with a bit, neither placement seemed to be correct.

Thanks,

I got it to work.  I'll post my copy if anyone is interested.

Seems like moving around widgets doesn't force an update of the cached files though.

I had a really busy day yesterday.

Also, updating the layput on blogs doesn't reset the cache either. Mine needs tweaking as I mentioned elsewhere.

my cache-sepcific rewrite rules are between rewrite base and upload files.

I see that bit now.  Thanks.

Are you removing the object cache define line as well or do you leave that in?

Discussed and fixed here:

Nope, still having issues.  It's creating the subdirectories to place the html files but they remain empty.

Anyone care to copy the content of their htaccess file please?  I'll fedex you a cim. roll.  I've got a dozen in my bag since we had extra at the hot dog guy today. Smiley

edit: And do you leave the object cache turned on?  I know Luke mentioned that he does but it seems to work better without it for me.  At least teh wp-cache part of it does.

Object Cache on.
Super Cache working as expected.

There are 13 lines for SC, and they're before the rule for /files.

The 7 gzip lines first, then the standard.

Works as expected for me.

I can email you my .htaccess if you want drmike as I am having no issues with the wp-super-cache myself even thought it was a real pain to setup in the first place.

It didn't really give me any problems at all, other than SK2 puking (even with the WP-Cache plugin and all). But, I worked around that pretty easy.

Please and thank you

I did have them reversed from what Luke stated so let me try that.  I had the IP blocks first, followed by the RewriteEngine and RewriteBase lines. The the previous subdomains, the uploaded files, the wpmu lines and then the 13 lines.  The 13 lines are now after the subdomains and before the uploaded files.  I had the RewriteEngine/Base in there twice as well.  I'll go back and turn on the object cache as well.

Thank you.

Hmm, it's strange as Trent has the uploaded files before the SC lines which is opposite from what Luke has.

Hmmm......

I've got to admit that for our mu installs, the hosts and I have discussed it and the "Nothing but pretty permalinks" condition is a deal breaker for us.  We have a small percentage of bloggers who write in non-latin character sets and, to get the URLs to not be a mess, they have their blogs set to the old standard that wordpress used to use. (ie Numbered URLs.)

We could probably modify the plugin fairly quickly to bypass those blogs by a simple check of how permalinks are set.  The issue with that though it's yet one more thing for the todo list.  Kind of surprised that it hasn't been done yet.

Our traffic isn't that hard either to be honest.

Anyone know if wp-cache allows non-pretty permalinks?  Gotta admit that we've never used it.

I don't recall any issues with wp-cache and permalinks.

However, it looks like the SC portion needs them neat and tidy.
